How to update NSE EOD data and F&O Data for Amibroker

I have shared couple of free database for Amibroker on NSE EOD data and NSE F&O data, but I was unable to share the utility that could be used to update daily EOD data. So here is free utility for downloading the data from NSE servers. GetBhavCopy is freeware application for downloading EOD data you can download data from NSE cash, BSE cash and Nse F&O on daily basis. Here is the detailed step by step procedure:

Setup GetBhavcopy Application:

  1. Open Getbhavcopy and click on option.
  2. In general tab select Ignore weekend and click next.
  3. Under equity NSE check download NSE data.
  4. Under download directory give path where downloaded data will be stored.
  5. Check download open interest.
  6. Check index volume and click next.
  7. Just ignore equity BSE (I love NSE due to huge volumes).
  8. Under Futures NSE check Download Futures data.
  9. Give path where data will be stored. Click on save button to save the settings.

How to download data using GetBhavcopy:

  1. Select the Start date and End date for which you need to download data.
  2. Just click that download button, GetBhavcopy will download data and store it path which you have set during setup of GetBhavcopy application.

Procedure to add data to Amibroker (Update Database):

 

  1. Copy files of format folder in the above downloaded file to C:\Program Files\AmiBroker\Formats
  2. Start Amibroker open database to which you want to add (update) data.
  3. Now go to File menu > Import Ascii.
  4. Select Getbhavcopy in Files of type.
  5. Choose file which you wish to import (File that was downloaded via GetBhavcopy).
  6. Click on Open. Data will be automatically added to your selected database.

Download Free IEOD database of All Active F&O stocks and Nifty for Amibroker

It has been a quite busy weekend, was extremely busy on working on creating a trading system (Buy Sell Nifty System). Well it is still not complete yet (most of the programming part is done) as testing and some optimization needs to be done. I will be giving it away to participants in a contest held here itself, first 5 winners will be provided my trading system for free of cost, anyways I will reveal it in my next few articles. By the way today I am sharing free IEOD database of stocks available in F&O segment in Amibroker format, It has about 230 scrips (including Nifty and Banknifty spot). This database has quotes (data) from 20-12-2011 to 21-05-2012 and can be updated with a small freeware application, which will be discussed after F&O expiry of may series.

Free update MCX EOD database Daily With Freeware Application

My Trader Friends, today I am sharing the update for MCX EOD database and it available for download for free. (See the link below) also there is freeware utility with which you can update your database on daily basis.

Here are steps to update database for free:

  1. Start Amibroker and open the MCX EOD database.
  2. Start the data downloading utility.
  3. Under download menu goto EOD Data > MCX EOD.
  4. Select the date range for which you wish to download the data.
  5. Hit the download button to start the download.
  6. Once the data download is complete, you need to add that data to amibroker, procedure is same as we have seen in case of NSE EOD data.

[Update] NSE IEOD Database with Updating Application for Amibroker

As promised, here is the updated NSE IEOD database of all 230 stocks and index that are traded in F&O segment. This database has IEOD data of stocks and index from 30 December 2011 to 11 June 2012. Also I am sharing the free application with which you can download the IEOD data daily for free. Below are links:

File Formats of IEOD Data (Copy these files to C:/Program Files/Amibroker/Formats folder)

Here are steps on how to update NSE IEOD database for Amibroker:

  1. Open the downloaded IEOD database in Amibroker.
  2. Start updation application which you downloaded from above link.
  3. Goto Download menu > Intraday data > Google.
  4. Select no of days you need data for and click on Download.
  5. Once the download finishes, its time to add it to your NSE IEOD database.
  6. In Amibroker, Click File menu > Import ASCII.
  7. Now you will be asked to select files, so just select the files which you downloaded from the Updation application.
  8. Under Files of type select OurNifty Format (.txt)
  9. Click on Open, files will be added to your NSE IEOD database.

I have updated the databases of amibroker, for MCX EOD, NSE IEOD (all stocks and index in F&O segment), NSE F&O stocks database with open interest and NSE EOD database for all scrips in nse cash segment.

Follow these links to download and apply them into Amibroker:

  1. NSE EOD database for all nse cash segment scrips.
  2. NSE F&O database with open interest.
  3. NSE IEOD database of all F&O stocks and index.
  4. MCX EOD database.

NSE EOD database for Amibroker, Update till 20 July 2012

Today I am sharing free NSE EOD (End of the day) database for amibroker, with update upto 20 July 2012. This database has all the scrips traded in NSE and most of them are purified, with stock splits and merger. Also I have deleted most of the scripts that are no longer traded on NSE.

I have also created a watch list of stocks that are in F&O segment, also have some stocks in favorites list. So you can do technical analysis only on those F&O stocks.

Steps to open this database:

  1. Extract database using WinRAR utility.
  2. Start Amibroker.
  3. Click on File menu.
  4. click on Open Database.
  5. Select the location where you have extracted files in step 1.
  6. Click on OK and database will be loaded.

NSE IEOD database in amibroker format is updated till 5 October is available now to download. It has data from around January 2012, in 1 minute format. It has only those stocks and indices which are traded in F&O segment in NSE. Just download the file from below link and open the database in amibroker.

  1. Extract file with winrar utility.
  2. Start Amibroker.
  3. Goto File>Open database.
  4. Select the path where you have extracted the file.
  5. Click on OK.

New update for Getbhavcopy application released

I have been very busy for last couple of weeks, so was unable to come up with articles on market. Today I am sharing latest update about the GetBhavcopy application that was released on 19 Nov 12. I have seen many traders here were unable to download the EOD data for NSE. So here is how you can solve this bug an update was released recently for this application. Getbhavcopy is useful application for updating the data of NSE EOD database in Amibroker charting software.

Just download it from this link.

 

Make sure you have Microsoft’s .net 4.0 version installed on your system. Or you can download it from here and install.

Once done you can open the getbhavcopy app as you used to do previously and it must work fine now. Friends, I would like to know names of book publishers as I am writing a book on technical Analysis, If you know some good publishers then do let me know. Happy trading.

[Updated] MCX EOD database for Amibroker, Free Download

After long waiting, I am here to share the MCX EOD database for amibroker. It is updated till 30.4.2014. As data downloader is no longer working due to changes in the link at mcxindia.com. So I have downloaded all the data manually and came up with this amibroker database.

Also, note that all the inactive scrips have been deleted by me.

HOW TO USE:

  1. Simply unzip above file.
  2. Start Amibroker and goto to file menu.
  3. Select open database, now select the folder where you have extracted files. click on Ok.

Free NSE Realtime data to Amibroker, Working application

Our previous application was not working, but don’t worry we have a new solution to this problem. Now you can get live Data feed to Amibroker, this can be done through Data Importer 3.0.2 version. We are happy to say that you get this application for free, so no need to pay any subscription charge. Just download this free application, install it and use.

Download Data Importer from here.

Steps to get started:

  1. Download the Data importer.
  2. Remove the Data feeder application, if you used it previously.
  3. Install Data importer.
  4. Open Amibroker.
  5. Create a new Database for saving Intraday data.
  6. In Amibroker, Goto File menu > New > Database.
  7. Click on Create button.
  8. Select Data Source as (Local Database).
  9. Enter no of bars as 10000.
  10. Base time interval as 1 minute.
  11. Click on Intraday settings.
  12. In filtering, select Show day session only.
  13. in trading hours (day session), enter 09:16 as start and 15:30 as end.
  14. Click on Ok.
  15. Again click on Ok, to save database settings.

Now, keep Amibroker open and Start Data importer, and follow these steps:

  1. Click on Red color button, to connect to Amibroker (it will become green).
  2. Click on ADD button to add stocks in list.
  3. Once done, click on ADD STOCKS button, this will add this stock list to Amibroker.
  4. Now select all these stocks on Data importer and click on Backfill – 5 minutes.
  5. Now you will be able to see the data on Amibroker.
  6. During market hours, when you click on Start button in Data importer. Live data will be shown in Amibroker.
